Spandan ,Annual Day Celebrations 2010...........

Delhi Public School, Mathura Refinery celebrated its Annual day, Spandan 2010 on 15th December 2010. It was a significant day for DPS M R Nagar since the school ushers the twenty fifth year of its conception. Down the memory lane there are nostalgic moments but these emotions are laced with untiring efforts to grow further and soar high.

The Chief Guest of the day Dr.Stalin Malhotra, Director, DPS Faridabad and the Guest of Honour Mr.J.P.Guharay, Executive Director, Mathura Refinery & Pro Vice Chairman, DPS MR Nagar graced the occasion with their benign presence. The galaxy of other dignitaries comprised of DGM (HR), DGM (F), DGM (Mat & CC), DGM (Security) CHRM, Mathura Refinery along with other IOCL officials. Members of the Students’ Committee, Officers’ Union and Trade Union also graced the momentous occasion.

To welcome and felicitate the esteemed guests the School Choir presented a melodious welcome song. The programme commenced, with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Dr.G.P.Pandey, in his welcome address, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed Chief Guest for his inspiring presence. He also extended his warm gratefulness to Shri J.P.Guharay E. D., Mathura Refinery & Pro Vice Chairman, DPS MR Nagar, Mr. Ashok Chandra, Chairman,DPS Society and Shri V.R.Vaish Chairman MC and Prof.B.P.Khandelwal-Member DPSS and Vice Chairman MC DPSMR for being a constant guiding force. The Principal put on record the achievements of the students with the message straight and clear, Nothing can stop us right now……. Our journey has just begun.

Going down the memory lane- a short Audio-visual presentation depicting ‘Sunahre Pal’ was presented to give the glimpses of some of the most cherished moments of the school’s glorious past. On the occasion, the school’s Annual Magazine ‘Prayas’ was released by the Chief Guest Dr.Stalin Malhotra and the guest of honour Mr.J.P.Guharay.

The enthralling moments followed as the meritorious students were felicitated with Scholar ties, Badges and Certificates of appreciation for their achievements in both Academics and Co-curricular Activities. On this special occasion the founder members of the school were felicitated with mementoes for their long, meritorious service to the institution.

The occasion was marked by a cultural extravaganza in the form of an invocation “Sharda Stuti” followed by a traditional Brij dance recital ‘Indra Darp Mardan’ It was a visual delight watching the little gems of Nursery put up a colourful show exhibiting their talent in the sequence titled Shimmering Cascades and girls from middle wing performing the Russian Kalinka. After these vibrant performances, came the theme presentation “Namastey India” which became an instant hit among the audience.

In his address, the guest of honour Mr.J.P.Guharay appreciated the efforts of the school to re-position it as a School of Choice, nurturing the students as dynamic learners. The students and parents were left totally gripped when Dr. Stalin Malhotra started off with his inspirational talk. It was a fine opportunity for all to absorb his pearls of wisdom on positive thinking, team work and practical learning.

In the end, vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs.Jayashri Sharma, Vice-Principal. The function was rounded off with the National Anthem.
